Motorola Moto Z to come without headphone jack

Motorola has announced its new flagship device, the moto Z . The most notable feature is that the moto Z will come without the headphone jack . The headphone jack will be removed and replaced by a USB-C port.

The removal of the headphone jack will help to make the phone thinner. Motorola calls it “the world’s thinnest premium smartphone.” Those who are wondering what will happen to their premium earphones and headphones fear not, the phone will come with a USB-C to headphone jack adapter, so you can still use your old headphones and earphones with it.

Motorola has also announced an other phone namely the Moto Z force, which comes with a shatterproof screen. The Moto Z force will also come without the headphone jack.

The other features of the Moto Z include 5.5-inch 1440p AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM, and 32 or 64GB of storage with a MicroSD slot, 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus and a 5MP wide angle front cam with flash. The phone will also come with a fingerprint sensor and a waterproof coating.

Earlier this year, there were rumors going around that Apple’s next flagship phone the  iPhone 7 will come without a headphone jack which was met with criticism all over the internet. It will be interesting to see how the consumers will react to the missing headphone jack on the Moto Z. It is not certain that Apple will remove the headphone jack from the new iPhone 7 but it is now clear that Apple will not be the first to introduce such a device.
